B. DISCIPLESHIP: TRAINING TEAM ("Come and See")

"PRESENT SITUATION" - THE VISIBLE WORLD

  • FOR THE BODY OF CHRIST - BAPTIZE & TEACH

    • 1. Baptize side of the spectrum (Faith / Evangelism) - Alpha like Course
      10 weeks of a shared Meal / a Video / Small Group & a Weekend

    • 2. Teach side of the spectrum (Works / Peace & Justice - "Omega like" Course)
      Practice ways of Listening to God, Gift awareness, Call

  • FOR THE INDIVIDUAL - LOVE GOD & NEIGHBOR(See: The Mentoring Manual)

    • Helping people (mature believers and new believers) to move around the bases of Spiritual Growth from:

    • LOVE GOD:

      • o First Base: Personal Faith,

      • o Second Base: Tools of the Faith ( using worship, prayer, Scripture, etc. to hear God's direction in our lives),

    • TO LOVE NEIGHBOR:

      • o Third Base: Invitational Skills, and

      • o Home Plate: Realizing our Gifts and Call in our daily lives.

C. DEPLOYMENT: MINISTRY TEAM ("Go & Make Disciples")

Note: This "systems" process allows people to use their gifts while taking care of the needs within each group. Each group is trained in how to Love God and Neighbor. (They learn how to Listen to God through a number of Spiritual Tools including Prayer and Scripture and they recognize that God is calling them to use their Gifts for ministry in their daily lives.) The Alpha course is a good way to teach the faithful and to reach out to the Community. As people get their needs met in these systems, they are less likely to need the Pastor to care for them. This leaves the Pastor with more time to focus on Leadership Training, like Jesus did! Houses of Prayer Everywhere (HOPE) provides the prayer necessary for a successful Spirit- Guided outreach to others.
